Posting for future reference & anyone else who might have the Kintaro Super Kuma 9000 Raspberry Pi case.
I'm using the Kintaro Super Kuma 9000 Pi case and a Raspberry Pi 3.
When you upgrade the Raspberry Pi OS or have to start from scratch, you lose the case switch functions and the power LED. The install instructions that were provided with the purchase or found again online do not work. (At the very least they do not work with Raspberry Pi OS 4.6.x)
For simplicity sake, there are 4 commands that you need to run at command line on the Pi. Press F4 to get to a command line. (If you need to change the keyboard localization, you can bring up the config GUI with the command: sudo raspi-config ).
Run these following 4 commands, they are case sensitive.
git clone https://github.com/MichaelKirsch/KintaroSnes
cd KintaroSnes
sudo dpkg -i kintarosnes.deb
sudo apt-get install -f
After the 3rd command you will see errors. This is normal, ignore them and run the 4th command directly after.
Use the command: reboot
at the command line to restart the Pi. The case switches and LED should now be working. Remember that the case LED does not come on until after the RetroPie Interface is loaded.
Thanks to Michael Kirsch for creating and maintaining the scripts for this. GitHub here: https://github.com/MichaelKirsch/KintaroSnes
