We’re relieved to share that the individual involv We’re relieved to share that the individual involved in the January 9 incident at Video Game Time (@videogametimenc) in Wilmington has been arrested and is now in police custody. According to WECT (@wectnews), a 36-year-old Wilmington man, Joseph Trevor Wilson, was taken into custody on January 11 and charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony second-degree kidnapping, and additional related charges. Arrest warrants state that an employee was restrained, robbed, and threatened with a firearm. Wilson stole an estimated $20k worth of Pokémon product from the store. We are saddend to share that our friends at Video We are saddend to share that our friends at Video Game Time in Wilmington were the victims of an armed robbery in broad daylight earlier this week, reportedly over Pokémon cards. The assailant made away with an estimated $20k in Pokémon product. It’s devastating to see a hobby that brings so much joy and connection to our community become the target of such dangerous and senseless crimes. This incident marks at least the sixth store in our area to be hit, but this one takes things to an entirely new and frightening level. The safety of our community, store owners, and staff must come first. We strongly encourage everyone to take all necessary precautions and remain vigilant when buying, selling, or trading collectibles.
