Welcome and thank you for your interest in participating in a RRG cosplay contest. To ensure a fair, fun, and safe experience for all participants, please review the following rules and regulations carefully. By cosplaying at a RRG event you acknowledge you have read and understand the following:
Eligibility: The contest is open to individuals of all ages. Participants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.
Registration: All participants must register by posted date to compete. Late registrations will not be accepted.
Code of Conduct: Participants must behave respectfully towards other contestants, judges, and attendees. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of inappropriate behavior will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the event.
Costume Criteria: Costumes can be original designs or based on existing characters from any genre (anime, comics, video games, movies, etc.). All costumes must adhere to a PG-13 rating.
Originality: Costumes can be primarily created by the participant or store-bought costumes are allowed. Extra points for original.
Appropriateness: Costumes should be appropriate for a general audience. No nudity, offensive symbols, or excessively revealing attire.
Safety: Costumes must be safe to wear. Sharp objects, real weapons, or any item that could cause harm are strictly prohibited.
Prohibited Materials: No pyrotechnics, explosives, or flammable materials are allowed. Costumes that emit any kind of liquid, powder, or substance that might interfere with other participants are also prohibited.
Time Limit: Each performance/skit should not exceed 1 minute if allowed during a runway.
Props: Props are allowed but must be handled responsibly. Props should not damage the venue or pose a risk to participants, attendees, or property.
Music and Audio: Any music or audio effects must be provided to the organizers in advance. All audio must be appropriate for a general audience.
Categories: Contestants are generally judged in the following categories (subject to change):
Scoring: Judges will score based on costume construction, creativity, attention to detail, and performance quality. The judges’ decisions are final.
Awards: Prizes will be awarded if advertised. We generally award several prizes and the categories will be advertised or decided by the judges.
Check-in: Contestants must check in at the designated area at least one hour before the contest begins or whatever time is advertised.
Disqualification: The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant for not adhering to the rules, displaying unsportsmanlike conduct, or for any reason deemed necessary to ensure the safety and integrity of the event.
Liability: Participants enter at their own risk. The event organizers are not responsible for any injuries, loss, or damage that may occur during the event.
Changes: The organizers reserve the right to modify the rules and regulations at any time. Participants may be notified of any changes in advance if deemed necessary for a particular event.
